From quiet areas for solo study to collaborative zones and bookable study rooms for group work, we offer a range of options to accommodate diverse study preferences and needs.

John M. Harper Branch

The John M. Harper Branch has three bookable study rooms available. The larger study room accommodates up to seven users, while the two smaller rooms accommodate up to three users.

Towards the rear of the library, you’ll find a spacious quiet zone complete with numerous tables, laptop bars and ample power outlets for convenient laptop and device charging.

Eastside Branch

The Eastside Branch has two bookable study rooms available. These study rooms can accommodate up to four users each.

Opposite the study rooms, there is a large “Bring Your Own Device Bar” where you can study and work. This space is equipped with ample power outlets for convenient laptop and device charging.

Main Library

The Main Library offers an array of study and work areas throughout the building. You’ll find study carrels and spacious study tables on the upper level, along with several inviting lounge areas ideal for reading, writing or focused work. Please be aware that this location does not offer bookable study rooms.

McCormick Branch

The McCormick Branch features a small study table furnished with power outlets and charging cords for your convenience. Please be aware that this location does not offer bookable study rooms.

Important Study Room Information

Study room bookings have a limit of 3 hours per day, per customer. Individual study seats are also available in common areas at all of our locations. Advance bookings for study seats are not required.

Booking and Using a Study Room

Bookable study rooms are available at the John M. Harper Branch and Eastside Branch.

  • Study rooms are intended for non-commercial groups, individual study or community-based literacy agencies.
  • Study room reservations can be made up to 48 hours in advance.
  • A valid WPL library card is required to book a study room.
  • Customers have a limit of 3 hours per day of study room use.
  • The room will only be held for 10 minutes past the reservation start time, at which point the entire reservation will be cancelled. Please cancel your reservation if you cannot make your scheduled time.
  • As a courtesy to the next customer, tidy the room at the end of your session and dispose of any garbage.
  • Respect other users in the library and keep the noise to a minimum.
  • The library is not responsible for any items left in the study rooms.
