Back to School Decorating Party
Have some new school supplies you want to personalize, or old supplies you want to freshen up and make look brand new? We’ve got you covered at our Back to School Decorating Party! Bring in a pencil case or a binder and your creative spirit - we’ll supply the rest. Each student will also receive a notebook to decorate. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about cool library resources to help them with their new school year.
Graffiti Fence Name Designs
In this two-part series for tweens, we’re making a modern name plate for your desk or dresser . . . or any other surface! In week one you’ll draft your own graffiti and prepare the fence. In week two we’ll bring the Graffiti Fence to life.
STEM Club
Each week there will be a new hands-on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) themed challenge for you to solve!
Seed Planting & Pot Decorating
Decorate a pot and plant a seed to grow at home. We will have a variety of decorations and seeds available. Dress for mess! This program will be outside, weather permitting.
Paper Airplane Engineering
Build a variety of airplanes from different materials and test your designs. Use your successful designs to score points on the landing strip and see how high a score your design can get.

Stuffie Sleepover
Come dressed in your pajamas for a cozy storytime with your stuffie. Enjoy songs, stories, and wiggles before saying goodnight to your stuffie for the night. Pick them up the next day and hear all about the fun they had overnight at the library!

Newcomers & New Cultures
Did you know that 1 in 4 people in Canada were born in another country? Our country is rich with diverse cultures waiting to be explored. Join us in this program dedicated to celebrating our differences and highlighting what makes each of us unique. We’ll learn about different foods, music, play a cultural jeopardy game, and do some fun icebreakers! Designed to embrace diversity, this program also provides a welcoming space for newcomer children to build new connections as they embark on the back-to-school journey.
100 Cup Challenge
Calling all engineers and STEM enthusiasts! Think you can stack all the cups without your tower falling? Put your building skills to the test with timed challenges and loads of fun.

Natural Wonders: World Traveler
We’re exploring several of the seven natural wonders of the world! Check out the wonders through a virtual live stream, make a craft at each station and “travel" around the world to decode a secret message.

Time to Clay
Join us as we play with clay! Participants will learn how to make pencil toppers and bookmarks using clay. Plus, enjoy some freestyle clay-time at the end.
Geometry Scavenger Hunt
The library is filled with fun geometry to discover, and we’ll spend our time together on the hunt. See if you can find all the 2D and 3D shapes, and geometric lines.
